Tricia Striano and Fiabe Motorie®: child development and international exchange

Fiabe Motorie® Insight · International scientific collaboration.

Tricia Striano is a cognitive psychologist whose work has focused on development and learning in early childhood. Her collaboration with Marco Bettoni and Fiabe Motorie® marked one of the project’s early steps towards structured international exchange with research and university training.

The collaboration launched in 2019

In 2019, Fiabe Motorie® established a collaboration with Tricia Striano and Zwifly Research Bridge. Project documentation describes this phase as an opportunity to connect the method with institutions and university students in the United States and to develop training activities around educational innovation.

The same collaboration was also reported by the Italian press, which highlighted the international interest generated by a method that had grown out of direct work in schools around Milan.

Child development, learning and interaction

Striano’s work on early cognitive development is closely aligned with a central idea in Fiabe Motorie®: children learn through interaction, shared attention, experience, relationships and meaning, not through a single isolated channel.

In practice, this means the adult does not simply demonstrate a movement. The educator creates a situation, introduces a rule, tells a story and supports the child while he or she tries to solve a problem through the body.

Present in the 2026 scientific ecosystem

Fiabe Motorie® institutional materials for 2026 include Tricia Striano within the project’s scientific and technological ecosystem, referring to her work on child cognitive development.

The purpose of this network is not to add names to the method, but to keep practice open to scientific dialogue and to transform observations from the field into questions for research, training and continuous improvement.
